A real find, wonderful & spacious hotel with terrific food.

Stunning views. Lots of comfortable places to relax around the hotel. Phenomenal food. Staff friendly & helpful.

Staff occasionally a little ill-coordinated amongst themselves, e.g. who is manning the bar? Drive to the hotel was through extremely narrow and steep streets.

Very nice hotel with great views, service, facilities and food.

The staff and room (we had a castle suite) were outstanding! Everything about the hotel is marvelous. We plan on returning next year and spending some time to get to know the little town. Food was great and the staff very attentive.

Our room was missing towels but we were provided some right away!

What was the highlight of Hotel Castillo de Monda

Fantastic views, great location, relaxing experience.

After deciding not to stay in central Malaga, but rather tour a greater area, I came across this hotel, about 35mins easy drive west of the city. It appeared favourably in a couple of online listing sites I trust of great small/boutique hotels, and I liked the idea of staying in a castle! The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the hotel was stuffed full of character, and had lots of lovely outdoor and indoor spaces to relax, including a pretty rooftop garden, with the most spectacular views. There was an all-day bar selling a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, and delicious snacks/light meals, and there was also a very nice restaurant, although I only ate the very acceptable breakfast in there. My room was in a turret with a four-poster bed, and was very comfortable and spacious, with a nice big bathroom. All-in-all, a great find, and an excellent base from which to tour Malaga province.

I can't really find anything I didn't like, but you need to be a confident driver to access the hotel. I am, but I imagine less experienced drivers, esp. on the 'other side of the road' may find it a bit daunting. Also, bring ear plugs if you are used to peace and quiet, as I am! I want to emphasise this is absolutely no fault of the hotel. They were very apologetic and there is nothing they can do about it, but there are a pack of very noisy dogs, who bark and howl on and off all night in the village, so come prepared, but don't let that put you off...it's a lovely place to stay and relax! :)

Perfectly wonderful

It’s perfect , it oozes charm , there are so many beautiful rooms and outdoor spaces . The views are incredible . Sunrises and sunsets were amazing. Swimming pool to die for . Food is wonderful , restaurant has the most incredible views . The staff are lovely , loved speaking with all the interns so friendly .

If anything the windey road up the castle is scary to drive one way and the small streets in the village if you go the other way.

Beautiful

Amazing grounds with stunning views. Beautiful bar and restaurant area, perfect for a drink end of the day.

Pool area too small for all guests, we couldn’t find a place next to the pool, at the end we didn’t use the pool.

I'd highly recommend this out of the way treasure of a hotel. You need a small car to get there.

Amazing views . great out of the way location in close proximity to Ronda and Antequera . Perfect for couples . Not ideal for kids. Very good value . We liked the food service at the lounge . Asked for wine from Ronda and they had it! There is a car charging station! They are trying to be eco. friendly but the local government restricts putting up solar panels!

The first room choice was by the kitchen vent which is loud. We were easily moved to 706 which is beautiful. However, the plumbing is not vented correctly so the room smells a little like the sewer. Don't plan on reading there because it is poorly lit. I think they are trying to save money on electricity.

Luxurious and unique!

Just WOW!!!! We were there in early January so couldn’t swim in the pool, but the the multiple lounge areas (bar, restaurant, reading room with fire place, outdoor terrace, garden) were so well curated and comfortable. We didn’t want to leave. The food and service at the restaurant were fantastic. Highly recommend it!

Lovely hotel in a great location!

Beautiful views, lovely bedrooms, excellent restaurant, and really nice garden and sitting room to hang out in. Also a good location for exploring the region

Lovely place, perfect.

It's a wonderful place, on the top of a hill. Beautiful 2000's castle, charming and cosy place. Excellent staff. Location excellent for tracking. Landscape with olive trees amazing. Very gentle staff, helpful.

Lovely place, perfect. Access is very narrow, prefer small cars. You will have to cross a kind of medieval village.

Exceptional comfortable place with friendly staff

Friendly staff, especially at reception, Juan at the bar, and at the restaurant. They could not have been more helpful. The food was amazing and the views stunning. The architecture is incredible, loved the decor and artwork. Location is perfect to explore, and lovely village.

Our room was not always the most quiet (above bar), not the most soundproof
